I have ruined my English street cred

We have spent the last 3 days doing excessively touristy things in London.  I’ll probably write more later, but for now:

Thursday:  walked through Westminster, saw Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, the Wellington Arch, etc, etc.

Friday:  Spent the day at the Tate Modern.  All sortsa really cool art.

Saturday:  Visited Trafalgar square where some weird Indian festival was going on (I think, still not entirely sure what nationality), breezed through some of the National Gallery (saw the Ambassadors, for all you NU people who had to do it on your application, but want to go back to spend more time there), and went on a bus tour of London.  The tour guide was awesome and British, and then we tried to walk back to Trafalgar square from the Marble Arch to do a ghost walking tour, but got lost and didn’t make it in time.

Tomorrow we’re planning to do a boat trip down the Thames and a Beatles tour which includes Abbey Road Studios(!).

Also, I never thought I’d see the day when I have a strong accent.  Waiting at the bar at our local pub the other day, an English guy asked me where I was from, and I say “Kansas City.”  He asks, “where’s that?” and I say the United States.  I get the response, “well, I could tell that.”  Ouch random English person, ouch.  But apparently my brand of Midwestern accent is especially detectable. Don’t ask me why.

Last side note, I really want classes to start.  After the last 4 days of having really nothing important to do, I’m starting to feel purposeless.  I need some structure.
